Parent & Student Lesson Expectations
What to expect before, during and after StudyCore lessons.

1. About lessons
StudyCore lessons are online and usually last 1 hour.
At launch, StudyCore focuses on GCSE Maths for Year 10, Year 11 and resit students.
Lessons are designed to help students build understanding, confidence, structure and exam preparation.
2. Before the lesson
Parents should make sure:
- •the student knows the lesson time
- •the student has a working device
- •the student has a stable internet connection
- •Google Meet or the lesson platform works
- •the student has paper, pen and calculator if needed
- •the student joins on time
- •any homework/past paper/materials are ready if relevant
3. Joining the lesson
The lesson link will appear in the parent dashboard once the lesson is confirmed and the link is available.
The student joins through the parent dashboard, parent email or parent-provided device/link.
Students do not need their own StudyCore account.
4. During the lesson
Students should:
- •join on time
- •be respectful
- •try their best
- •ask questions
- •avoid distractions
- •not record the lesson
- •not share the lesson link
- •keep the lesson focused on learning
5. Parent involvement
Parents do not need to sit in the lesson by default.
However, parents should be aware that the lesson is taking place and should be available if needed.
Parents should check the dashboard or emails for lesson notes and next steps.
6. Communication
Tutors should not contact students privately outside approved StudyCore channels.
If a parent needs to ask something before or after a lesson, they should contact StudyCore.

7. Recording
Lessons are not recorded by default.
Students, parents and tutors should not record lessons unless StudyCore and the parent have agreed in writing.
8. Behaviour
StudyCore expects respectful behaviour from tutors, parents and students.
Abusive, discriminatory, threatening or inappropriate behaviour may lead to lessons being cancelled or accounts being restricted.
9. Lesson notes
After a lesson, the tutor may provide notes for the parent.
These may include:
- •topics covered
- •what went well
- •areas to improve
- •suggested practice
- •next steps
Lesson notes are not a guaranteed prediction of exam performance.
10. Results
StudyCore aims to support progress, confidence and exam preparation.
StudyCore cannot guarantee grades, passes or exam outcomes.
